User interface customization and number formatting
Customization of Powersim Studio 2005
Another important new feature of Studio 2005 is the ability to
customize the user interface. The Workspace submenu
on the View menu allows you to turn on and off
any of the toolbars of Studio, as well as turning on (and off) the
new Task Window, the Project Window, as well as switching between
the two built-in user interface layouts. There are two layouts available:
 Normal
and 
Advanced. The Normal workspace contains all the
functionality you need to create advanced simulation models. The
Advanced layout adds the features you need if you want to create
hierarchical models, export and import data from datasets, work
with risk analysis, and more.
Tip! If you are new to Studio, or if you are mainly
creating simulation projects with only one component without hierarchical
model structures, we recommend that you use the Normal
workspace. If you are working with datasets, multiple components,
and hierarchical models, you should use the Advanced
workspace.
You may freely turn on and off commands from the user interface.
When a command is disabled, it will not appear in toolbars, menus,
or shortcut menus. You open the Customize dialogbox by selecting
Customize on the Workspace submenu.
Number formatting
Number formatting is introduced in presentation controls. You
control the number format by right-clicking the cells or axis and
selecting Properties on the shortcut menu, and
then use the Number property page. The number formatting
allows you to control the number of decimals, digit grouping, the
number of integer numbers (such as presenting 349 as 00349), and
more. The formatting supports times and dates, time spans, currencies,
as well as scientific and normal number formats.
