Powersim
Studio SDK
(Software Developer's Kit)
This Software Development Kit (SDK) is a software library that
can be used by programmers to include simulations in custom-designed
software applications. Software developers can use the SDK to develop
simulations for the web as well as desktop applications to be run
in the Microsoft® Windows environment.
Key features include
- Develop simulators for the Internet
- Include simulation in Windows applications
- Create multi-user simulation games
- Create integrated decision support systems
- Develop management training applications
New features in Studio 7 SDK
This product has been modernized and our development team has had as their main focus to improve ease-of use. You can look forward to the following features:
- New modernized object model
- Easy to use on multiple programming platforms, like Visual Basic .NET, Visual C#, C++, VB Scripts, ASP .NET, etc
- Enhanced functionality: access to variable definitions, access to analysis and dataset variable values, multiple runs, reference data, etc.
- New Visual Basic .NET example
- Works with Windows Vista
- And a lot more…
System requirements
- Development environment that can utilize COM interfaces, such
as most C and C++ compilers, or alternatively development tools
that supports ActiveX controls, such as Borland Delphi or Microsoft
Visual Basic
- Powersim Simulation projects created with Powersim Studio Enterprise
- Microsoft Windows 2000, XP or higher
- At least 64 MB RAM
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later version
Detailed information
Powersim Studio SDK is a Software Development Kit, that lets you
create custom web-based or desktop interfaces for your Powersim
models, as well as connect your Powersim models to any enterprise
database. Powersim Studio SDK allows you to create simulations with
sophisticated front-ends. The SDK contains a run-time version of
the simulation engine that allows you to directly embed simulations
within your application. The SDK fully documents the COM interfaces
you need to control the simulation engine. Through these interfaces
you can open models, set and retrieve values, as well as run simulations.
If you prefer working in Visual Basic or other development tools
that support the ActiveX technology, you can take advantage of the
Powersim Engine Control included in the SDK. This offers nearly
the same degree of flexibility as developing through COM interfaces,
but is a lot easier to implement. Powersim Studio SDK fully supports
all simulation features in Powersim Studio Enterprise. Studio SDK
offers a convenient means of distributing simulations, so that people
can experience the dynamics of a system.
Powersim Studio SDK also allows you to connect Powersim models
to any enterprise database. Using the SDK DCOM interface with your
Powersim models, you can send and retrieve database values from
any enterprise database, ensuring that your simulation models are
always accurate.
Flexible application development
You can create a front-end using any development tool that accesses Component Object Model (COM) interfaces or that supports ActiveX controls. One user interface can even interact with several simultaneous simulations of one or more models.
Simulation control
Studio SDK gives you control over simulation setup (such as start and stop times), simulation state (advance and reset simulations), and values of variables (you can set values and get both values and time series from the simulation).
Easy distribution and installation Studio SDK allows you to include the simulation engine inside the installation program of your application. The SDK supports both Windows Installer and older installation technologies. |
